Urban agriculture initiation workshop

Free workshop, for young people and teenagers from 6 to 17 years old.
Meet in the garden of the Wilfrid-Bastien pavilion.

Demonstrate to participants that they can do agriculture in the city whether on a balcony or in a yard. Participate in an edible and utilitarian greening process in your community. Respond to a problem related to food security. Equip students and their parents to create their own vegetable garden to promote a certain autonomy.

Free workshop, for young people and teenagers from 6 to 17 years old.
Meet at the Parc Coubertin pavilion.

Come and explore a honey garden with a magnifying glass to spot all the little treasures that make it rich: the various plants, pollinators, their habitats and more! An excellent opportunity to observe the variety of living forms found there and their characteristics! You will leave with the desire to discover even more the world of pollinators and to observe them everywhere in town where there are flowers!

Meet in front of the Library.

A chicken, of course, gives good fresh eggs. But by paying more attention to it, we realize that it has so much to teach us and offer us! This workshop allows you to discover the fascinating world of the hen and aims to highlight the diversity of its behaviors, which can all be highlighted.

3 dates to remember:
 

  • September 7, 4 p.m.: berries, at the St-Léonard library (Ludothèque)

  • September 20 at 4 p.m.: apples, at the Youth Caravan, which will be parked in Giuseppe Garibaldi Park

  • October 4 at 4 p.m.: shoots and germinations at the Wilfrid Bastien park pavilion (room #1248)

What better way to understand where our food comes from than to see where it is produced? 

We believe that by offering families in St-Léonard the possibility of seeing, smelling and touching food and the stages of its production, it will stimulate interest in healthy food, local products and environmental protection. environment.
 
We chose to visit The Enchanted Farmhouse in Mascouche. It is an educational farmhouse and an NPO that works to help children with special needs.
